As winter transitions into spring, Niseko continues to deliver unforgettable experiences both on and off the slopes.
This season, the resort came alive with a dynamic lineup of events, bringing together guests, locals, and creatives to celebrate the best of Niseko’s unique alpine lifestyle.
Spring in Niseko is known for its longer days, softer snow, and iconic Mt Yotei view and this year was no exception. A series of curated events added even more energy to the season, showcasing the destination’s growing appeal beyond world-class skiing and snowboarding.

Late winter / early spring kicked off with the biggest ever Rhythm Rail Jam at Grand Hirafu’s Free Ride Park.
What began in 2013 as a small jib setup behind the Rhythm Hirafu store has grown into one of Niseko’s signature winter events, with the 2026 edition drawing more than 4,000 spectators and 82 riders. With DJs, food, drinks, prizes and a strong local and visitor turnout, the event once again showed how Niseko’s spring calendar now extends well beyond the slopes alone.

In Hanazono, Jurassic Day added a playful twist to the season, inviting guests to cruise down the mountain in dinosaur costumes, accompanied by live DJs and a fireworks finale to celebrate the end of night riding for the 2025–26 season.

Adding a cultural dimension, the 2026 Niseko Film Festival, hosted at Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono, marked a milestone year. With 35 film registrations and 23 selected screenings, the festival welcomed approximately 850 attendees.
Featuring filmmakers from around the world, the event highlighted diverse storytelling rooted in adventure, creativity, and life in the mountains and further cementing Niseko’s evolution as a cultural hub within Japan’s premier alpine destination.

Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU partnered with European-born event Swatch Nines Snow, transforming the mountain into a world-class stage for progression and creativity. With a custom-built setup and an impressive roster of international athletes, the event drew attention from across the global snow sports community, showcasing cutting-edge freestyle skiing and snowboarding in a uniquely Niseko setting.
Together, these spring events highlighted the diversity of Niseko’s spring experience: from world-class snow sports and international showcases to community-driven celebrations and cultural gatherings.

As the season winds down, Niseko continues to demonstrate why it is more than just a winter destination. With its unique blend of terrain, events, and atmosphere, the resort offers something for everyone, right through to the final days on snow.
