Niseko United Season 2017/18 officially open!

Niseko United Season 2017/18 was Niseko United’s first official guest for winter 2017/18 after the resort opened in style this morning. Grand Hirafu opened on schedule following a huge week of early season snow – the first time there’s been enough snow to open on schedule since 2012.

The heavens have delivered more than 1m of cumulative snowfall to the Niseko villages, with plenty more than that higher up on the ski slopes. A traditional Shinto ceremony officially opened the season outside the Welcome Center at the base of Grand Hirafu.

Meanwhile Annupuri is confident it will open on schedule this Saturday, November 25. Official opening date for Niseko Village is 1 December, and Hanazono 2 December. There is considerable snowfall forecast for the remainder of the month so chances are good all resorts will be operational by 2 December.
