Niseko now part of something bigger – Mt Collective

Niseko United this year joined one of the world’s major ski resort alliances, becoming a Global Affiliate resort member of The Mountain Collective.

The Mountain Collective Pass costs US$469 and gives holders 40 days of lift access at 20 resorts across the world, as well as further lift ticket and lodging discounts. Fourteen of the resorts are in North America, including household ski resort names including Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole and Banff Sunshine.

Pass holders can claim a 2-Day Niseko United All Mountain Lift Pass giving two consecutive days access to Niseko United’s four resorts – Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, Annupuri and Niseko Village. Holders simply need to present proof of purchase and photo ID at lift ticket counters upon arrival in Niseko to claim their passes.

Niseko is one of four Global Affiliate members for the 2017-18 season, along with central Japan’s Hakuba, France’s Chamonix and Chile’s Valle Nevado, with Australia’s Thredbo and New Zealand’s Coronet Peak full members.

Niseko United spokesperson Scott Mountford said the pass would encourage more people from around the world to visit Niseko. “Japan is a relatively new international skiing destination,” he said. “While Niseko is well known in Australian skiing circles and across Asia, we’re looking forward to welcoming more skiers from the US and elsewhere and introducing them to the world’s greatest powder ski resort experience.”

Niseko is one of the world’s most exciting new international ski destinations thanks to extremely consistent powder snowfalls, rich Japanese culture and hospitality, world-class dining and “onsen” hot spring baths.

Rounding out The Mountain Collective’s North American resorts are Alta Ski Area, Lake Louise Ski Resort, Mammoth Mountain, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Snowbasin Resort, Snowbird, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Sugarbush Resort, Sun Valley, Taos Ski Valley and Telluride Ski Resort.

The Mountain Collective Pass includes two days of skiing or riding at each of the 16 partner resorts, plus a 50 percent discount on all additional days with no blackout dates. Passholders also receive two days at each Global Affiliate Destination. Pricing for kids aged 12 and under is $99 USD for the 2017-18 season.

Additional benefits available to the Mountain Collective passholders include exclusive lodging deals and a complimentary one-year Protect Our Winters membership, whose mission is to unite the winter sports community on the important issue of climate change.

Passes are available online through an exclusive technology, distribution and marketing partnership with Liftopia at www.MountainCollective.com.
