The peak powder season has come to an end, which means that our epic spring season has begun. Niseko’s spring is not to be missed with temperatures slowly starting to warm up, and blue skies and sunshine a regular feature.
The warmer, sunnier days are great for kids and families – the holiday crowds start to die down a little which means fewer people on the slopes. With resort-wide discounts and amazing weather you’re in for an unforgettable skiing experience.
Spring is like the bargain sale season for skiing in Niseko. From accommodation to lift passes, prices are lower across the resort. Here are a few that you won’t want to miss.
For each adult purchasing an All Mountain pass, one complimentary child’s lift pass (for age 4-12 years) will be provided free of charge. The passes range from 3-day to 12-day tickets, and the child’s pass will be the same duration as the purchased adult’s pass. The offer is available to families staying at Setsu Niseko or any Vacation Niseko accommodation who buy tickets through their accommodation until the end of March.
Accommodations in Niseko Village are currently offering spring break special offers. Great deals with additional discounts for lessons and passes are available, so make sure to check them out!

Lift ticket prices at all resorts are reduced from March 21. The Niseko United All Mountain Pass’s Spring Season 1-Day pass is priced at JPY 6,700, compared to the Regular Season price of JPY 9,500.

With more sunny days, there are plenty of classic alpine-style skiing opportunities. The colder temperatures at high altitudes keep the snow in amazing condition above the treeline. It’s perfect for those who want to enjoy wide-open glades.
One of the characteristics that makes Niseko special and distinct from other resorts all around the world is the picturesque view of Mt Yotei. Spring is the time when its transcendent beauty can regularly be seen against the bluest of skies all around Niseko.
Spring is a great time for freestyle skiers with two parks to choose from.
Hanazono’s famous terrain parks and features will be open until April 7th (may change due to weather conditions).
Meanwhile Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu will open its Spring Park from the beginning of April. High up on the slopes where the snowpack is still deep, the park will feature rails, kickers, boxes and a wave zone. The Spring Park will be located within the Shirakaba course, accessible from the King Hooded Quad Lift #3. (There may be changes due to the snow conditions).
Check out the special events and activities waiting for you in spring!
Looking for fun and adventure for the whole family? A snowshoe scavenger hunt event will be held on 2 and 3 March at Niseko Village. Solve riddles with your family and find clues at checkpoints for prizes!
After 38 years, the Ace Quad Lift #2 (Center 4) in Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU will run its final lap on March 31st, before being reborn as a 10-seater gondola next winter. To mark the occasion the resort will hold a farewell event featuring fireworks and more. This may be an emotional day for those who have been visiting Hirafu for many years.
After you’ve had fun ON the ski slopes, it’s time to take to the skies ABOVE them! Hanazono Zipflight opens for spring time thrills, rocketing riders up to 110km/hr down a 1.7km span. Dress warmly and buckle up for this unique winter experience. Check out the video for the Zipflight
